NICU Session

 MY NICU EXPERIENCE

This month I was so honored to be called to the NICU at Valley Medical Center. As some of you know, I was the newborn photographer at VMC for 3.5 years and I loved it so much!! It was nice to be back in there.

This time I was there to meet a very special little girl and her parents.  This little girl was born at only 30 weeks, weighing only 2.9 lbs. and only a little over 14 inches long. Can you imagine that, a little baby so small you could hold her in one hand? It’s a miracle that these teeny babies can survive outside of moms womb! First I want to give God the glory for His miracles! Of course we can’t forget the wonderful doctors and nurses at Valley Medical Center who devote so much of their life to saving these little ones. The fact that baby C overcame so many obstacles so quickly tells you, God has a plan much bigger for this little girl and I feel so blessed to be able to document her first couple weeks in the NICU.

This beautiful little girl is also special to me because she was born at 30 week just like my Hayley. I have been there, its tough!

Thankfully this sweet girl has such loving, devoted parents to their  first baby! They have stayed with her almost every single night and have learned to attend to her needs. Such devotion and love is what is getting this little peanut out of the NICU about 2-3 weeks earlier than her actual due date! She was not even 5 lbs. when discharged!

I feel truly blessed to be a little part of the lives of the newborns and families I get to meet and photograph. I am devoting my time to help the parents that have babies in the NICU.

I will document the beginning of the journey for these parents free of charge. I will come in at least 3 times, of course dependent on the circumstances, for a quick session. In the end you will receive a CD of the edited photographs to print, share and cherish for years to come.
